Our engineering team has finished installing the first of three ferry-based monitoring systems on the Queen of Alberni (BC Ferries). The Queen of Alberni plies the waters of the Salish Sea between Tsawwassen and Duke Point Terminals, 18 hours a day. The system is composed of 2 instrument clusters. One suite of instruments is located below waterline, and is dedicated to measuring water surface properties such as oxygen concentration, water temperature, salinity, turbidity, and chlorophyll. Another suite, mounted on top of the wheelhouse, is an enhanced meteorological station combined with communications equipment.
