Mill Bay
Vancouver Island's Brentwood College School operates a small near-shore sensor platform, which feeds realtime measurements into the Ocean Networks Canada online database. Brentwood College School is located on the western side of Saanich Inlet, roughly opposite the VENUS Saanich Inlet location. Data collected from this site are of interest to researchers wishing to compare conditions across the inlet.
“We’re a school on the waterfront and we wanted to be more active in monitoring the environment that’s in our own backyard,” says David McCarthy, Brentwood’s director of studies. “We’ll also be doing our own projects in the estuary here in Mill Bay. We’re very excited about this collaboration with UVic.”
