Prince Rupert

Prince Rupert is located within Ts’msyen Territory on the North Coast of British Columbia. Kxeen is the Ts'msyen name for Prince Rupert. The Prince Rupert community observatory, installed March 2016 is one of several community observatories being installed along the coast of British Columbia. There are two installation sites in Prince Rupert: one on the west side of Digby Island near the Prince Rupert YPR airport and second location on the west side of Ridley Island. As coastal communities face a wide range of rapid environmental changes, real-time data from cabled observatories can be used by community members when making informed decisions about their coastal and marine resources.
