In the March 29th Times Colonist article 'Dead pigs in a sea of science', Dr. Verena Tunnicliffe, Director of the VENUS Obervatory, outlines a forensic research project with dead pigs, currently underway at the Central Node of the Georgia Strait.
In the same paper, another article called 'Pigs reveal secrets of bodies in water' appears on SFU forensic entomologist Dr. Gail Anderson. Dr. Anderson discusses how she and Tunnicliffe first began their collaborations, and how data from pig decomposition furthers the forensic science used to solve homicide cases.
